Originally named Adranos, Orhaneli, located to thesouth of Bursa, was named after Hadrianus, theRoman Emperor. It was renamed Orhaneli in 1913after Orhan Bey who conquered the region.Remaining for a long time as the center of districtsof Harmanc›k, Keles and Büyükorhan of theMountain Locality, the administrative jurisdictionof Orhaneli shrank once the above-mentioned districtswere established. The source of livelihood ofthe people is agriculture and animal-husbandry.The thermal power station at the district is a significantsource of livelihood for the people in theregion.
