Mayor of Metropolitan Municipality
Alinur Aktaş was born in Inegöl in 1970. He completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Inegöl. He graduated from Uludağ University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. He has been a senior manager in İnegöl Furniture sector for many years. Alinur Aktaş who started his political life as a founder member of Inegöl Justice and Development Party (Akparti) board of directors is also a public accountant and financial advisor. He was elected mayor of Inegöl on March 28, 2004 elections.
He produced solutions for the most difficult problems of İnegöl with his projects. First, he renewed existing Inegöl. Considering the fact that the current Inegöl was highly populated, he laid the bases of New İnegöl with a population of 150 thousand outside of the settlement area. He broke new ground in municipal affairs with his many pathbreaking projects by dominating the city economy with pioneering services such as City Museum, Covered Town Market, Ahmet Türkel periphery road, renewed Oylat, and particularly Modef fairs and Furniture Expertise Organized Industry Zone. He as well took the lead in many projects like Huge Refining Project, Umuteli Natural Sports and Tourism Center and Green Energy.
The mayor whose projects aimed at especially children and young people also drew attentions and he was elected as the mayor of the year twice in Marmara region with his leading projects that produce solutions for every age and in every area from public transportation to urban transformation, from education to health and sports, from infrastructure to superstructure services. He rightfully earned the title of education volunteer for his exclusive supports to education.
Mayor Aktaş who was elected as the mayor of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality by the Municipality Council on 02 November 2017 after the resignation of the previous mayor of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Recep Altepe, can speak English and Arabic, Mr. Aktaş is married with two children.
