COMFORTABLE TRANSPORTATION MEETS THE WESTERN END OF THE CITY BY THE BURSARAY RAILWAY UNIVERSITY-GORUKLE LEG
The first three stations of the 6.5 km long railway route that will connect the Bursa Railway system with the University, Altınsehir, Ertugrul and Ozluce, which were scheduled to be completed by September 2011, were completed 10 months before the scheduled date and put into service. The fact that three of the stations have started passenger transport has seriously decreased the traffic load in that route. Construction of the other stations, Yuzuncu Yil, Batikent and Uludag University, is continuing rapidly. The project will bring comfortable and modern transportation to the western side of the city and is intended to be completed before the scheduled date of September. With the completion of the railway route, besides the 40,000 university students, thousands of citizens who go to the University Hospital every day will be able to travel from anywhere in Bursa to the campus directly. Citizens who take the same route from campus to downtown Bursa will be able to take the tramway routes that are still in the planning stage and reach their destination with no need for any wheeled vehicles.
